Dear Reader, The immigrant community of these United States and I, Nick “The Greek” Ioannidis, invite you to join us in celebration and adopt this October 28, 2016 as National Immigrant’s Day. We will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the inauguration by August F. Hawkins, Congressman of the 29th District on October 28, 1987. Since its conception, citizens from across the nation have been encouraged to celebrate this day by their respective elected officials who have proclaimed October 28th to be National Immigrant’s Day. The community is cordially invited to celebrate National Immigrant’s Day on Tuesday, October 28th, 2016 at 2669 East Gage Avenue, Huntington Park, CA 90255 to commence at 12:00pm. The celebration will take place inside the Freedom Shrine, which displays with pride a large and complete collection of letters and photographs received over the years from public officials from across the country praising National Immigrant’s Day. We as a community have gathered every October 28th since 1988 to commemorate all immigrants who have made significant contributions to our country, and would be honored for you to attend to help us celebrate.
