Nick loannidis is a long time resident and owner of NICK THE GREEK IN AMERICA Tailor Shop of Huntington Park, California. A unique man who celebrates his free will, individuality and blessings. What makes him truly unusual is his gift to be able to give deep meaning to his citizenship, and his desire to celebrate it, as we do other wonderful things: birth, our faith in God, marriage.
In 1969, Nick Ioannidis made the most important commitment in his life:
He left his native Greece to come to this country with his wife, Tessie, three children and all his belongings to start a new life.
In many ways his story represents that of millions of other immigrants seeking a better life in America. But while many found it, and others survived fairly well or had disappointed expectations, Nick found THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM. An ideal place to practice the ancient and honorable art of tailoring, a wonderful place to raise a family, serve his community and have peace of mind.
His is a story of how faith in one’s ability, hard work, and ideals must be constantly renewed and exalted.
For thirty-one years his story has unfolded in grand fashion, for he is always searching for the right words and symbols to describe the feelings he had the moment he became a citizen. . .when he was able to say: “America, Now You Are My Country!”
His message is for native born and immigrants alike: LOVE AND
APPRECIATE YOUR COUNTRY AS YOU LOVE AND APPRECIATE YOUR LOVED
ONES. BY CELEBRATING LOVE FOR YOUR COUNTRY, YOU GAIN AN
UNDERSTANDING OF HOW YOU ARE PART OF THE WORLD COMMUNITY OF NATIONS.
